Cornerstone
Acceleration & Strength Training

Are you a high school athlete? Aspiring to make your high school team?

We at the Riekes Center would like to help you achieve your goals.
In the Cornerstone Program, students aged 14 and older are introduced to advanced training techniques including the Olympic Platform and plyometrics. The Cornerstone program is sport-specific and workouts are tailored to meet the individual strengths and weaknesses of the students.

Students begin the Cornerstone program with a thorough evaluation and orientation. The evaluation includes an assortment of running, jumping, agility and flexibility tests. Body measurements are taken if requested. Based on the results of the evaluation, the students coach creates a workout for the student, tailoring the workout to meet the students individual goals. The workout includes a variety of exercises including
  • Dynamic warmup, focused on flexibility and joint range of motion
  • Core strength and stabilization exercises
  • Complex Olympic lifting movements
  • Running and agility drills
  • Plyometric movements
  • Frappier Acceleration technology
After the workout is written, the student attends 3 one-on-one sessions with a coach to learn the exercises. After these three sessions, the student comes to the Center and completes the workout under staff supervision. Staff members review the students progress after each session and update the workout to optimize results.

This program effectively prepares the student to train in college-level weight training programs. Sessions are 90 minutes in duration. Modified programs are available for students in sport seasons.
